Is hypnosis just another myth?
I dont understand how any1 can just fall into hypnosis and mind control just by sum1 saying to them "one two three and sleep". Sounds like complete BS to me.

It´s no myth but it´s true that only certain people can be hypnotized. There should be a degree of trust between the hypnotist and his subject.

you can be hypnotized, but you have to want to. You can't make someone do something mentally that they don't want to do. E

It's no a myth and many hospitals are using hypnotism as a therapy for a varieties of treatments successfully.Amongst other things, one thing which stands out is that no person can be hypnotized without his willingness. It's an interesting branch of human mind studies though with limited applications.

I tend to believe in it to some degree, as I have never actually heard of someone in the medical field debunk it as a fraud… It should be rather easy to defraud, like psychics…

You cannot to my understanding be hypnotized against your will, nor once hypnotized, to do anything that you would be strongly opposed to…

However, I do think much of what you see as far as stage acts is a fraud… making people think they're a chicken, or having an orgasm… nonsense like that

Hello

A hypnotic state is a natural state & one in which we enter several times a day – a hypnotist (stage act) or a hypnotherapist (healer) simply induces that state.

Hypnosis cannot be forced onto anyone, it needs complete agreement.

To achieve hypnosis you have a, Induction to relax the body & the a Deepner to relax the mind before any work can be done.

No BS just the way in which the brain works.

Apparantly it takes a lot of training and skill to learn to hypnotize.

They don't actually say one two three sleep. The process is a bit longer than that. And yes, it does work, I have seen people be hypnotised and have been hypnotised myself.

All hypnosis is self-hypnosis. Even when you are working with a hypnotherapist, you are still doing it yourself.

Hey Ress,

There is truth to hypnosis! It is a real power of those who have it mastered. If you do not believe it, then have it done to you sometime. I have been in the local bars a few times when they have brought in a hypnotist as entertainment. They usally ask for volunteers. I hope this helps!

Hypnosis as you describe it is definitely a myth.

However, the unconscious mind is a real and vital force in your life, and true hypnosis can help you to make changes in how it resolves problems.

Instead of thinking of hypnosis as mind control, try thinking of it as a state of mind where you can learn at an extremely excellerated rate. While in that state you can learn quickly and easily what may be difficult otherwise…but still the choice of what, or if you learn is up to you.

Find out about true hypnosis to understand what it truly can and cannot do.
